The Spruce Meadows Leg Up Foundation is proud to donate to the DeWinton Pony Club. This club is a branch of the Canadian Pony Club Alberta South Region that has been developing young Equestrians since 1971. Their mission is to develop amazing young equestrians and citizens that are confident, competent, and knowledgeable about their sport, safety, and care of their equestrian partners.They value education, health, and wellness for themselves and their equine partners all while promoting an opportunity for youth growth in grass roots equestrian sports. Success for their organization is when the youth in their community is having fun growing and sharing with others their love and passion for their equine friends and their sport.Through the implementation of the Canadian Pony Club curriculum this year, the DeWinton Pony Club is focusing on ‘Horse and Rider Safety’. The funds from the Spruce Meadows Leg Up Foundation will be used to help educate the DeWinton Pony Clubs’ members on proper fit and use of safety equipment for the rider and their equine partner and will provide the club an opportunity to purchase some of this equipment. It will also be used to provide a Falls Techniques clinic for the members.
