AGRIUM -
GROWING THE NEXT GENERATION |
|
Located in the International Plaza |
|
For
the first time, the weekdays of the “National”
Tournament will become part of the educational
curriculum for Grades 3 to 6. Spruce Meadows,
along with Agrium, will present Growing the Next
Generation, an interactive program that will
explore wetland ecosystems, agriculture, the
rural/urban interface, watersheds, and our
changing environment. And of course, the horse.
Young
students will learn about the evolution of the
horse and its role in civilization, from a
source of meat to work horse, and from war horse
to sport horse. They will also be introduced to
equine care, and how the horse moves, seeing
first-hand the power of horses by taking in some
show jumping action. |

RCGA Canadian Golf Hall of
Fame |
|
Located in the Horizons Pavilion in the
International Plaza |
The
RCGA/Canadian Golf Hall of Fame is a great way
to celebrate the
game of golf. From champions and championships,
to golf ’s role in Canadian history, to the
technical specifications of equipment
manufacturing, the spectrum of golf is captured
as you play a round. There is more to the Hall
of Fame than meets the eye. The heritage
services of the RCGA/Canadian Golf Hall of Fame
includes an extensive photographic and
documentary archive, as well as a golf library.
One of the objectives of the RCGA/Canadian Golf
Hall of Fame
is to reach beyond the walls of the museum,
located at Glen Abbey Golf
Course, telling the stories and history of golf
in Canada through its website,
community events and travelling exhibitions.
However, this year, in celebration
of the 2009 CN Canadian Women’s Open being held
Aug. 31 – Sept. 6 at Priddis Greens Golf and
Country Club, the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame
will reach a whole new audience. Open daily. |

heat of the prairie, as men and women toiled to
bring in the harvest, and you will shiver at the
sight of men using shovels to remove snow from
frigid railway tracks.
