Our Foals Need Names!
Spruce Meadows welcomes three new foals looking for names as part of the 2022 Edition of Name the Foal, presented by TELUS. For the second year in a row all three are colts (boys) and need fans across the country to help them find a new name.
Throughout the Spruce Meadows Summer Series Tournament the foals will be making appearances on the International Ring. Fans will also be able to follow along with the growth and development of the foals on social media, as our team will be sharing digital updates all summer long.
Now let's meet our foals!
Foal #1
Born April 9, 2022 Foal #1 is the oldest of the trio. He has lots of flashy white markings just like his father, Spruce Meadows Hanoverian stallion, Spot Cash. His name will need to start with the letter "S".
Foal #2
Foal #2 was born April 25, 2022 from the beautiful mare, Skyline. He is a spunky attitude matches his fun colouring that he inherited from his sire, Ice Man du Houssoit. His name will need to start with the letter "I".
Foal #3
A full brother to 2018 Name the Foal, presented by TELUS alumni, Cold Brew, Foal #3 was born May 2, 2022. Casparo is the sire of this stunning colt and his name will need to start with the letter "C".
Fans from across Canada are encouraged to enter online for the possibility of having their name selected. Each year, Spruce Meadows Name the Foal, presented by TELUS, attracts more than 50,000 entries for suggested names. This year’s winners will receive a cash prize of $1,000 CAD as well as a Spruce Meadows and TELUS Prize Pack including awesome tech and merchandise.
