2025 PetFest at Spruce Meadows is HERE!

Calgary’s hottest spring family event returns this weekend,  April 11-13

Monday, April 7, 2025 (Spruce Meadows)—Calgary’s favourite new family event is back this weekend, as PetFest at Spruce Meadows kicks off on Friday.

Following the smash-hit that was last year’s inaugural event, this year’s PetFest promises to be even more fur-tastic, with non-stop animal entertainment, shopping, and adoptable animals from local charities.

Highlights include corgi races, a dachshund dash, mini-horse show jumping, as well as sheep and duck herding demos. Spruce Meadows’ own agility team, the Prairie Dogs, will delight, as will exotic animal meet-and-greets.

There will also be loads of delicious food and drinks, including the new PetFest signature desserts—chocolate mousse capybaras and macaron (choccobaras!)—being sold at the ‘EPIC Weekends at Spruce Meadows’ booth, near the front entrance of the Equi-Plex.

A must-see…Alberta’s top dog-and-trainer tricksters Jen and Daiquiri, of American’s Got Talent fame, will be there vying for a 14th Guinness World Record—the most times two dogs can leapfrog (leapdog!) over each other.

“We have truly pulled out all the stops for this year’s PetFest,” said Krista Poffenroth, Exhibits & Business Development Manager. “There are so many fun shows to enjoy and great shopping, it really is going to be a fantastic experience. I’m personally excited to see all of the adorable adoptable dogs that our partner charities are bringing, in the hope they find forever homes.”

Tickets for the public cost just $5 for kids/seniors, $15 for adults (but media and influencers can come with our compliments—click button below for access). Parking is complimentary.
