Spruce Meadows Announces New ‘Live & Intimate’ Concerts

January 15, 2025

FIVE incredible music acts are being unveiled today as the faces of the inaugural Spruce Meadows Concerts taking place this June and July—Leon Bridges, Dean Brody, City and Colour (Solo), Metric, and Brett Kissel.

The groundbreaking ‘Live & Intimate’ concerts, four of which have a maximum audience of just 2,000 fans, will be held during the venue’s new Epic Weekends events, alongside the show jumping, with one concert on Canada Day in a ‘come one, come all’ celebration. Tickets go on sale this Valentine’s Day, February 14, at 10 a.m. MT.

The announcement comes as Spruce Meadows celebrates an epic 50th Anniversary in 2025, further cementing its status as the city’s ‘suburban playground’ and a leading Sports and Entertainment District.

Four of the acts will take the stage in the elegant and historic Equi-Plex building on the Spruce Meadows grounds, offering fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get ‘up-close-and-personal’ with their favourite stars.

VIP boxes will also be available, contact Spruce Meadows for info.

LEON BRIDGES

Leon Bridges, best-known for hit songs "River" and "Beyond", will deliver two incredible performances on July 5 and 6, marking the Grammy Award-winning singer’s first-ever shows in Calgary.

CITY AND COLOUR (Solo)

City and Colour (Solo), aka Dallas Green, will offer up stunning sets on June 14 and 15, giving fans a unique opportunity to see one of Canada's biggest artists in an intimate setting like never before.

DEAN BRODY & METRIC

Country superstar Dean Brody, on June 7, and indie darlings Metric, on June 28, will also delight fans.

These four performances—Leon Bridges, Dean Brody, City and Colour (Solo), and Metric—require individual concert tickets, but will also offer access to 'Epic Weekends' AND the world-class Spruce Meadows show jumping tournaments, which will run in tandem on the same weekends as the concerts.

Canadian country favourite Brett Kissel will be the only one to perform on Spruce Meadows’ spectacular outdoor Scotiabank Stage on Canada Day, July 1, as part of a host of celebrations. His high-energy hits will be included with the price of admission, which starts at just $10 for children & seniors, $25 for adults.

“We are extremely excited to unveil the identities of these incredible acts, as we move further into the Sports and Entertainment space with what will now be the annual Spruce Meadows Concerts,” said President and CEO Linda Southern-Heathcott, who has planned a series of special events and surprises for her family venue’s 50th Anniversary.

“We believe each of these artists will bring something different and exciting, and by offering a unique, elegant, and more intimate setting, fans can have an experience like no other.

“Our team has been working hard to ensure this coming year has something fantastic to offer everyone. We want Calgarians, Albertans, and everyone beyond to know that Spruce Meadows is Your Place, where anyone from all backgrounds can feel at home and experience some of the Spruce Meadows magic.”

'Epic Weekends' will offer a huge range of events included in your general admission ticket, such as outdoor film nights, lively entertainment, fun for kids, incredible food, and much more, with details to follow in the coming months.

They will run at the same time as the super-popular ‘Continental’, ‘National’, ‘Pan American’ and ‘North American’ show jumping tournaments, for equestrian lovers and inquisitive fans alike.

Parking is included with all tickets, with VIP close proximity parking available to book.

Plus, you can get to Spruce Meadows in less than 30 minutes from virtually anywhere in the city now that the Southwest Calgary Ring Road is complete.
