Horse Program Professional
Brian Morton, a key member of the Spruce Meadows team, experienced a career resurgence after joining us. Originally from Vancouver, Brian, now 36, honed his competitive skills in Langley, marking a turning point when he started taking his professional career seriously. Since his move to Spruce Meadows, Brian has become a rider and trainer for the Horse Program, overseeing high-performance and developing horses. Notable victories include the Founders' Classic Grand Prix, where he triumphed with Crusador Z, a 13-year-old mare owned by Spruce Meadows. Brian's one-two punch includes Crusador and Firefly W, showcasing his versatility as a rider. Looking ahead, he aspires to represent Canada at championships like the World Championships and Olympic Games, reflecting the positive changes in the Canadian team's dynamics. Brian Morton's story is a testament to the transformative impact of Spruce Meadows on his career, emphasizing his dedication, passion for the sport, and aspirations for international success.

Andrew More, an Equestrian Canada Licensed and NCCP Certified Competition Coach Specialist, entered the world of show jumping following the completion of his degree in International Relations from UBC. His journey in the sport led him overseas, where he spent several years immersed in riding and gaining insights into the intricacies of show jumping as both a sport and a business. As a nationally certified Competition Coach Specialist, Andrew boasts an impressive track record, including being the previous winner of the Talent Squad series for Western Canada and securing numerous grand prix victories. His commitment extends beyond the arena, actively participating in provincial and national-level sport associations to enhance support for riders and horses in their development. Andrew's dedication to ongoing study and continuous learning reflects his passion for the sport. Currently active in competitive riding within the hunter and jumper rings, Andrew's multifaceted involvement underscores his commitment to the holistic development of riders and horses under his guidance.
