Who, What, When & Where of the Spruce Meadows 'National' CSI5*/2*, presented by Rolex


Spruce Meadows (June 15, 2022) – More than 350 of horses completed the FEI veterinarian inspection today at Spruce Meadows ahead of competitions beginning tomorrow. Throughout the week, Spruce Meadows will be hosting high performance athletes from 5 continents as they compete at the Spruce Meadows 'National' CSI5*/2*, presented by Rolex.

Riders will be competing in the Thursday and Friday events hoping to qualify for the weekend's competitions including the RBC Grand Prix of Canada, presented by Rolex and the ATCO CSI2* Grand Prix. Fans can look forward to seeing top Canadian Riders Tiffany Foster, Mario Deslauriers, Amy Millar, ,Ben Asselin, Erynn Ballard and Beth Underhill.

In the 2* events, Australia’s Maddison Stephen continues her Spruce Meadows journey following two wins in the Founders' Classic CSI3* during her inaugural visit to Spruce Meadows. Young local rider Eric Krawitt (CAN) will also be looking make a few more trips to the winners circle.

The Spruce Meadows grounds will be open to show jumping fans starting tomorrow for the Spruce Meadows 'National', presented by Rolex. Tickets must be purchased online and a variety of ticket options are available for each day of the event.

Those unable to make it to Spruce Meadows can tune into the action can subscribe to the Official Spruce Meadows Livestream for $19.75 (+ tax) a per tournament or $99.99 (+tax) for the entire season. ClipMyHorse will also be streaming all the Spruce Meadows competitions available to their subscribers.

The Top 20 Prize Money Winners at Spruce Meadows is Changing


Leading the Top 20 in Spruce Meadows Prize Money Earners, with a total of $6,765,206.77 earned, Eric Lamaze (CAN) fulfills the role as Chef d’Equipe for the Canadian Show Jumping Team following his retirement. Beezie Madden (USA) follows in the second spot with $6,048,910 in earnings and is a rider to watch for throughout the tournament. Fellow American rider Kent Farrington has risen to third place with earnings of $4,211,885.

Mario Deslauriers (CAN) ranks 10th on the list with $2,104,103 and is a rider to watch following a win in the Founders' Classic. Two new additions to the Top 20 Prize Money Earners include world #5 ranked rider Conor Swail (IRL) with $1,541,308 in earnings and Rowan Willis (AUS) with $1,311,095.66, both of which have climbed their way onto the list.

The current top ranked female rider in the world, Tiffany Foster (CAN), is just shy of the million dollar mark at Spruce Meadows with just over $970,000 in lifetime earnings.
